 About Sports Resumes Forum

This is a site for athletes to create an "Athletic Resume". The athlete is in control of the content contained in the resume. Add any statistics or information you like. Update it whenever you want. Use the information in whatever way you care to. Anyone will be able to view your resume. This is particularly valuable for coaches and scouts, who will be able to view information on athletes typically out of their scouting area. If you are a coach or scout, SportsResumesForum.com puts distant athletes within your reach. Now you can scout anywhere in the world and find otherwise hidden talent.

Athletes - Create Your Resume:

1. On the Home Page pick the sport you would like to post a resume for. Then enter your email (which will be your user ID) and choose a password. You will also use this ID and password to update your resume in the future. Note: SportsResumesForum will never use your email address for any purposes other than to contact you directly about your resume. By creating a resume you are agreeing to let coaches and scouts contact you through this website.

2. You will then be taken to the create resume page. Fill out the questionnaire in any way you like. It is just a guide; you may omit or elaborate on anything as much as you like. Be accurate. The only required sections to fill out are for "search" purposes. Remember this may be the first time a coach or scout sees you so make a good first impression. Check your spelling!

3. You have the option to upload a picture. The picture may have a maximum file size of 225k, and maximum dimensions of 500 pixels high by 400 pixels wide. Anything exceeding these limits will be rejected. Your image will be resized to fit within the box on the resume page. For best results, create a picture that exactly matches the size of that box: 212 pixels high, 170 pixels wide. The picture must be in JPG, GIF or PNG format to work correctly. Inappropriate (as determined by SportsResumesForum) and copyrighted material will be taken down and the email address provided will no longer be eligible for this website.

4. Once you have completed your resume select "save this resume for later". This allows you to preview what your resume will look like. Click on "view your resume". If you want to make some changes, click on "go back and edit now". Once you have made your changes and like what you see, de-select "save this resume for later" and submit. You are done, and your resume is now visible to the outside world. Update any time and as much as you like.

Coaches and Scouts - Search for Athletes:

There are two ways to search for athletes:

1. General Search: on the Home Page pick your Sport, Gender and Level of Competition from the pull down menu and click on the "Go" button. This will bring you to an initial list of athletes. You may browse through those athletes or continue with a more specific search within this page. There are more search options on the left side of the page. Using the pull down menus you can refine your search by Position, Birth Year, or Home State, depending on the Sport and Level. You may refine your search by one or all of those choices.

2. Advanced Search: for those who prefer to look for a specific athlete rather than browse. If javascript is enabled in your browser, you will see a checkbox labeled "Advanced Search" on the Home Page. After checking that and choosing a sport, the pull down menus will show that sport's choices. You may use all or just a few of the search options to refine your search for a specific athlete. This eliminates the first step of the General Search function and saves time in your search for a specific athlete. As an example you would be able to search specifically for athletes within your sport and home state. If you know the name of the person, this is also the section where you can enter then name and search for the athletes resume.

Order Your Results! After your search results are listed, you can use the gray bar above the list to order the results by First Name, Last Name, Position, Birth Year or State. The resumes will be ordered alphabetically by your choice or in the case of Birth Year, younger to older.

Contacting Athletes:
Each Athlete's resume has a place for a contact number and email address. If these are listed they are provided by the athlete and they may be contacted this way. They also have an option to keep their email address private; in this case you can write to them through our online email form. A generic page will pop up to fill out. The contents will be sent to the email address provided to SportsResumesForum by the athlete.
